Being Involved in Procurement

Commissioning is the process by which health and care services are planned, purchased and monitored.

Procurement is part of the commissioning process and is essential to ensure the best healthcare services are provided for our population.

Commissioning includes a range of activities including:

  • Assessing population needs
  • Setting priorities
  • Planning services
  • Buying (or procuring) services
  • Monitoring quality

To help us ensure that the services we procure are the right ones for our population, Norfolk and Suffolk Integrated Care Board welcomes input from people with lived experience from our geographical area.

We understand that procurement can be complex so, if we have put together some slides and a video which we hope will help you to understand the process.

If you have any queries about being involved in procurement, please contact us:
